Eckhard Gerdes earned an MFA in Writing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MA in English from Roosevelt University. He is the author of four published novels and has a fifth, Przewalski's Horse, due from Red Hen Press in Fall of 2004. Other fiction of his has appeared in Rampike, U-Turn, Oyez Review, Coe Review, F Newsmagazine, and elsewhere. He is editor of the Journal of Experimental Fiction and lives with his wife, Susan Teller-Gerdes, and four of their five children, Ludwig, Ulysses, Michael, and Joanna, in Georgia, where he teaches creative writing and English. Another son is away at college.
